The Daily Briefing (Glass) template
Offices, coworking spaces, hotel lobbies, waiting rooms
This template needs your own API key. It shows no data without one. It ships with placeholders, and every screen running it displays a “connect your key” notice until you paste real values in. Nothing here is gated behind a Sheencast add-on: the data comes from your own account at that service, over your own key, against your own quota there.
You supply: NewsData.io API Key (free at newsdata.io/register). The key is stored with the template in your Sheencast account and is sent only from your own screens to that service. Sheencast neither supplies nor proxies this data, and can't show it to you without your key.
Use a read-only, narrowly scoped key. A key pasted here travels to every screen playing this template and is readable by anyone who can open the template in your dashboard or the page source on the screen itself. Every service below offers a read-only credential limited to a single base, team, repository or calendar. Create that one, not a full-access key, and revoke it at the service if a screen is ever lost.
The template running live, rendered the way your screens render it.
A dated ten-story news digest on frosted glass. It refreshes morning and evening, like a paper, because its feed (NewsData.io's free tier) delays articles about twelve hours. That constraint becomes the format — this is the briefing, not the ticker. Bring a free NewsData key; until one is set, the screen says exactly that instead of pretending. A category field turns one template into a business page, a tech page, or a sports page.
