Digital signage on VIZIO
Cannot run the player directly. Add an HDMI stick — the TV is still fine to use.
Also sold as: SmartCast and VIZIO OS sets
No browser — needs a stick
The browser
None — SmartCast and VIZIO OS are app-and-cast platforms with no web browser, and none can be installed. Casting or AirPlaying a browser tab is the workaround usually suggested, and it is not a substitute: the picture lasts only as long as the phone or laptop stays awake, unlocked and on the same network, and nothing restores it after a reboot. That is a demo, not a display.
Opening the player

Settings that keep the screen on
| Setting | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sleep timer and auto power off | Menu → System → Timers | Set Sleep Timer to Off and Auto Power Off to Off. Auto Power Off is the idle timer and is enabled by default on many VIZIO sets. |
| Screen saver / blank screen | Menu → System → Timers → Blank Screen, or Menu → System → Power Mode | Disable any blank-screen or screensaver delay. Power Mode should be set so the TV resumes rather than staying in eco standby. |
Worth knowing
- Plug a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV device into an HDMI port and follow that platform instead.
- Apply the timer settings above to the VIZIO panel too — they run independently of whatever is plugged in.
